The instructor is launching a new Dreamweaver CS3 and Dreamweaver CS4 course series. This series is not only designed for the hobbyist, but will provide valuable tools and resources to those aspiring to be professional web designers. The three session series will provide students with all of the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the Adobe certification exam Web Communication using Adobe® Dreamweaver®.
This is a follow along course to be taken after taking the Dreamweaver CS3/4 Intro course. More information coming soon.
Dreamweaver CS3 or CS4. Software up to 75% off for students, teachers, and schools at Academic Superstore! Students, parents, faculty! Journeyed.com has your lowest prices on software, hardware and more! Although the lesson plan screenshots are from a PC, Macintosh users will benefit from the lessons. Versions of IE 6.0 or greater AND Firefox 1.5 or greater. All assignments will be checked in both of these browsers. A working knowledge of your computer is essential. LVS offers a free Windows class if needed. Plan to devote approximately 3-5 hours each week to complete their course work. Homework must be reviewed by the instructor in order to earn a certificate. Some weeks there will be bonus assignments to provide additional learning opportunities. These bonus assignments are not required to complete the certificate. Students need a web hosting account. If you don't have one, students have the option of using the free web hosting or a student hosting account made available for LVS students. Details are provided in the classroom. Students should have working knowledge of their operating system and must understand directories and paths: Free Windows course and Directory Structure Tutorials are available. Zip files may be necessary to complete the exercises provided each week. WinZip, PKZip, Windows Compression or similar program is required to unzip these files. Free Winzip and Windows Compression Tutorials are available. All lessons are in PDF format. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view/print the lessons.
Class Level - Intermediate Dreamweaver CS3/4 Intro, Build Your Website I and Level II or strong XHTML and CSS knowledge are required.
All the exercises in this class will use CSS and work will have to validate both for XHTML and CSS. Please do not register for this class if you have not met these prerequisites.
At the end of this course you will know how to work within the Dreamweaver environment to set up a document correctly validate a document for X/HTML and CSS. You will also know how to make a css and a table-based layout, create a page from a tracing image, use image maps, extensions, behaviors, and templates to create well organized, functional and attractive websites. In addition you will experience some of the benefits of the new Creative Suite integration.
