Corel Painter: The Art of Collage
[183]
$30.00USD

Course Description
The word Collage stems from the French word coller, to stick or glue visual objects to a central backing. Two dimensional collages are usually created with photographs, ribbons and pieces of newspapers, magazines, so on and so forth. You can use just about anything!

For digital art, collecting artifacts, photographing and scanning them is an integral part of materials. Creating Collage in Painter enables you to apply many features like textures, overlays composite methods plus many, many more. The materials are only limited by your imagination!

Collage most often carries a Theme, whether it be a portrait of someone, or a particular scene you wish to show off with added items that bring together a unique piece of art. Lots of painting with Painter Brushes enhancing our images to bring an end result of a lovely creative image.

Some may say that Collage is similar to Scrapbooking in a small way it is as there are definitely similarities.

In this online course you will begin with simple assemblages, leading up to lesson six where you create a portrait. Each lesson has a theme and I provide you with resources, however I do like to see your very own creations.

This is a 5 week, self-paced, online course. If you need additional help understanding the material presented, you can communicate with the instructor and fellow classmates. Course Recommendation

Painter has been optimized to integrate seamlessly with a Graphics (pressure sensitive) tablet such as the inexpensive Wacom Bamboo, or the multi-featured Wacom Intuos. Although you can use the program with a mouse, you will find many of the features to be most effective with a tablet. You may want to consider buying one at some point in time. There is initially a bit of a learning curve, but once you begin to use the tablet and pen in conjunction with Painter (and many other programs) you will be both amazed and excited by how real the painting and drawing effects seem as you work. Check out our academic resellers for discounts on hardware.

Course Prerequisites
Class Level- Intermediate.

Completion of Painter I or a good knowledge of the Painter program. Completion of the Painter Brushes I class is recommended but not required.

It is recommended that you do not take two Painter classes together as this could cause confusion and frustration and it is important to enjoy creating collages.
