Corel Painter: Introduction to Brushes II
[214]
$30.00USD

Course Description

Corel's Painter is the leading digital painting application software. Painter's Brush tools offer a wide range of preset painting and drawing tools called Brush Variants. These Variants are organised into Categories, like, Airbrushes, Oils, Calligraphy, Pencils, so on and so forth.

Painter Brushes are designed with real media in mind. For example: you can select a Fine Camel brush variant from the Watercolour Category by using the Brush Selector bar, here you can have quick access to all Brush Categories and Variants at your fingertips, beautiful Pastels, Watercolour, Oils and that brush you select will simulate real media.

Two of Painter's recent features are the RealBristle Brush and Hard Media with their respective Variants that can produce a natural movement of an artist's brush. This feature heightens the responsiveness of your brush in a totally new way. You can replicate the sensation and interaction between paint, canvas and brush. There's no other program that can let you experience this.

Special Requirements for this Class: You must have completed Painter Brushes I and you cannot take Painter Brushes I & II together.

Painter Brushes II is written for the person who wishes to expand their knowledge of Painter's brushes. If you have a version prior to Painter X you will not have the RealBristle brushes and prior to Painter 11 you will not have the Hard Media brushes. This does not mean that potential students with earlier versions cannot participate. I welcome you all.

Course Recommendation

Painter has been optimized to integrate seamlessly with a Graphics (pressure sensitive) tablet such as the inexpensive Wacom Bamboo, or the multi-featured Wacom Intuos. Although you can use the program with a mouse, you will find many of the features to be most effective with a tablet. You may want to consider buying one at some point in time. There is initially a bit of a learning curve, but once you begin to use the tablet and pen in conjunction with Painter (and many other programs) you will be both amazed and excited by how real the painting and drawing effects seem as you work. Check out our academic resellers for discounts on hardware.

Course Reviews
Erin::
"I really appreciated learning a wide range of uses for many of the brushes and to use them in different capacities to achieve a finished painting. I never would have figured out the best brushes for painting, trees, sky, grass, blending, painting water etc. without the guidance. Now I know how to use brushes in combination to complete a painting, and I am not so overwhelmed with the selection anymore."
