Course Description
Would you like to improve your ability to clearly and effectively express yourself in written reports and correspondence? Do you sometimes utilize incorrect grammar and punctuation? Would you like to improve your basic writing techniques and "brush up" on your written communication skills?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions,
then this is the class for you!
We will cover the following topics: grammar, subject and verb agreement, sentence patterns and composition, commonly misused words, punctuation, possessives, and vocabulary improvement.
Throughout the class, you will receive feedback, corrections, and explanations from the instructor.
This course has been adapted from a classroom course taught by the instructor to students whose backgrounds range from business managers seeking to effectively improve their writing skills, to housewives reentering the business force, to college students seeking help with writing techniques, to immigrants wishing to become more familiar with the English language and its subtleties.
Join those who have already completed this course, and improve your writing techniques, and learn to write more effectively!
This is a self-paced, online course. You have 5 weeks to finish. If you need additional help understanding the material presented, you can communicate with the instructor and fellow classmates. The instructor will monitor and track your progress throughout the class. LVS Online offers many wonderful learning tools to help you get the most out of your online course, including an online portfolio service that manages all your course registrations,

We will begin with an Eye-Opening Quiz - How much do you really know about grammar, sentence structure, subject and verb agreement, sentence patterns and composition, spelling, commonly misused words, punctuation, and possessives? Take the following quiz to find out.
